Elder James E. Walker (JEW) is anointed with a powerful voice and a deep passion for God's people, bringing a fresh and fervent ministry to the body of Christ. His unique sensitivity to the voice of God and unwavering commitment enables him to share the Gospel through revivals, conferences, and Christian workshops across the nation, impacting lives wherever he goes.
His Foundation
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Elder Walker grew up as a third-generation preacher and military child, immersed in a family with a rich Gospel heritage. From an early age, he was actively involved in church ministry, learning the Word of God firsthand. His love for praise and worship ignited when he gave his life to Christ, and his faithfulness, musical talents, and natural leadership abilities opened doors for him to minister in a variety of settings within the church, including leading musical workshops and promoting gospel concerts. However, his true passion has always been rooted in the Word of God.
After moving to Atlanta, Georgia with his parents, Elder Walker served under the late Bishop Chandler D. Owens at Greater Community C.O.G.I.C. It was during his time in Atlanta that he felt a strong call to ministry. In 2001, he accepted the call and was appointed Youth Co-Pastor of Greater Community Church by Bishop Owens, marking the beginning of his journey as a leader in the body of Christ.

His Testimony
While it may seem that Elder Walker's journey would be smooth, life’s challenges have tested his faith in profound ways. As the Apostle Paul said, "When I do good, evil is always present." On August 1, 2005, Elder Walker was falsely arrested and imprisoned, facing two life sentences in Cherokee County, Georgia. With no bond and his face splashed across the media as a “fugitive minister finally captured,” this difficult period became the birthplace of JEW Ministries. During this time, Elder Walker learned the true meaning of relying on a close relationship with God. His family’s faith in him, even when his own faltered, helped him hold on to the promises of God. When a judge declared, "You will never walk the streets again," Elder Walker knew that God was the ultimate Judge. On September 27, 2007, he was acquitted of all charges, and his testimony became a beacon of hope: “Faith x Prayer + Praise = FAVOR! To God be the Glory!” He was the first African American in Cherokee County to receive an acquittal on all charges since 1995. Reflecting on the experience, he says, “It shook me, but it didn’t kill me.”
